If you had plans to stream or capture gameplay of Destiny 2 with OBS or XSplit in full screen, then you are out of luck. Bungie detailed those restrictions today: “To help ensure that every player will have a fair shot at fun and glory in Destiny 2 on PC, we resist attempts by third-party applications to insert code into the game client. This may result in incompatibility between Destiny 2 PC and the features of common third-party applications. ”
saying that dedicated streaming PCs and capture devices such as the Elgato capture card are supported. Although these are supported, the game must be in full-screen mode to capture.
You are able to use OBS and XSplit’s capture modes if you want to capture the game in windowed mode, but you will have to adjust the settings in those programs to capture the windowed game. They may not be supported in third party applications using an overlay.
Destiny 2 releases on September 6th for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The PC version releases on October 24th.
