Killer Instinct Heads to Steam!
Microsoft’s popular and competitive fighting game is now available on Steam. Developed by Double Helix games, Killer Instinct launched as an Xbox One exclusive. Iron Galaxy developed Season Two and Three, as the game saw additional fighters from various Microsoft IPs. Such characters included the Arbiter from Halo, and General Raam from the Gears of War.
The PC version of the game released for Windows 10 last year with the release of season 3. When it launched, however, Microsoft said in an another announcement that the game would be available for Steam later on. The Xbox One version of the game is a free-to-play model, with players able to purchase seasons or costumes. The Steam edition will include all three seasons and all 29 characters.
Killer Instinct features cross-play, allowing players on Xbox One and PC to challenge each other in fights. It should be noted that the Steam version will not have that same ability. Due to Steam operating differently from Microsoft’s platforms, you will have to purchase the game again.
Season three featured popular and new characters: Rash from the iconic Battletoads games, alongside with characters from Killer Instinct 2 back in 1996: Kim Wu, Tusk, and Gargos.
